History of Public Safety Unlimited:
In the late 1990's, I began to wonder why local uniform companies could care less about customer service. Each time I went in to spend my uniform allowance, it seemed as if I was bothering the employees of these businesses who really didn't appear to care. Public safety officers expect and deserve better.

In 2003, I approached my wife about opening a storefront in Voorhees NJ. This was an extremly humbling experience, since neither had true retail experience. She, a professor at a county college and I, a local police officer in South Jersey, certainly were hesitant about the concept of being business owners. She agreed; we started slowly with a website, an Ebay storefront, and some local department sales.

In 2006, after many local officers asked why we didn't have a store, we took a chance of our lifetime. Taking the plung by hiring staff, signing a major uniform company (Blauer), and finally opening the doors were steps that were very scary . After two years of blood, sweat and sleep deprivation, we are on our feet and moving forward to business that has made us proud.

In May of 2008, the business moved across the street to a more customer friendly location.  A new home was found for the store!

About Sonia and Mark:
Being a part of a long family history of law enforcement and military individuals, we wanted to keep the love of law enforcement alive by not only becoming a police officer, but by also opening a supply company that caters to the needs of those in uniform. Because the supply/needs list for people in uniform is very long, we know the expenses for men and women in these professions sometimes can be costly. Considering this, we have searched for the best products, negotiated the best price, and now we can pass that savings on to you so that you can enjoy the extra money in your pocket. Public Safety Unlimited is a family operated business, managed and maintained by myself, my wife, and our children...We provide the product to you with the customer service you deserve.

Do you have a storefront?
Yes, we have a store located in Voorhees, NJ. We are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Holidays are subject to change.  Appointments can be made for departments and individuals for sizings and product demonstrations.

Can I get help from a human being about product questions?
This can be easily done by email (websales@publicsafetyunlimited.com) or a friendly phone call, toll free, 866-388-SAFE (7233). We personally test many of the products we sell and would never want a brother or sister injured by a cheap or faulty product. If we can not provide an answer, we will research and do our best to help you or your department. Customer service is one our best qualities which sets us apart from the others.

Returns:
What is your return policy?
All returns must be in new condition with tags attached, original packaging, and returned within 30 days. Special orders or personalized items are NOT returnable. If an item has been altered, it is not returnable. Alterations include but are not limited to hemming, striping, shirt zippers, changing pocket flap or epaulet color, and applied patches. Returns may be subject to a 20% restocking fee. Please call 856-753-5900 for a Return Authorization (RA) number.

Back Orders:
What would make my order get delayed?
Some of the items that you may order could be special order items. Some companies will ship the item directly to you, while others require us to ship your item. Once in awhile, an item could be backordered, which may create a slight delay. If you order does require some extra time to fulfill, you will be notified periodically about the progress of your shipment.

Employment Verification:
Why are you asking me for employment verification?
Some of the products we sell are restricted to Law Enforcement and other Public Safety persons therefore we are required by Federal Law to verify the identity of the buyer for certain products. We generally will require a letter on department letterhead from your department, along with a copy of your department identification.

Special Orders:
I can't find my product...Do you take special orders?
Yes! In fact this is our specialty, but your needed item becomes our mission. We will do whatever we can to find the item you need at the best price available.
